I had these brain flakes on my wish list for the longest time and finally bought them. I bought them just in time because Texas had an awful rainy season and we couldn’t do outdoor recess. This has been a HIT during indoor recess! The best thing is you don’t have to explain how to use them, the kids just start creating. As you see in the picture, one jar is enough for 6 or so kids to play with comfortably. I am so happy I made this purchase. My students get so proud of their creations they want me to take a picture and send it to their parents.

My 8 year old Lego loving, puzzler loves them!! She has looked at the tree and decided to make one her own way and she has just made the rainbow ball following the directions. As a teacher, I love the open ended nature of these and that the shape requires flexibility of thought in a way cubes don’t. Divergent thinking is something I want in a person and for toys to encourage.
